WKYC-NABET Federal Mediation, 10-12-08 BULLETIN #5 NABET-CWA/WKYC-TV MEDIATIONOctober 8, 2009 The Race to the Bottom Continues!  The parties met in joint session today at the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Office in Independence, Ohio.  The session was held under the auspices of mediator Michael S. Franczak. The Union’s negotiating team gave an overview of the current reopener negotiations and its position on the state of our contract which expires on June 1, 2011. After several attempts to find common ground, the Union and the Company exchanged counterproposals on the outstanding economic issues.  In the end, the parties failed to reach an agreement and the mediation concluded early this afternoon. The Company will assess its position and get back to the Union.Meanwhile, you are encouraged to ignore all rumors and should the Company implement any changes to our contract, the Union will utilize any and all legal means of redress at our disposal. Once again, if anyone is requested to sign a document to allow for a payroll reduction, you are instructed to refuse to sign it.  Should you be ordered to sign, add Signed Under Duress onto the document and retain copies for yourself and the Union. In solidarity,

Your Negotiating Committee
