Reading of the Minutes of the September 17th, 2011 E-Board Meeting is suspended.

Treasurer’s Report is read by Treasurer Marilyn Oliver. In September, the total monthly income was $18,380.20. Expenses for the month totaled $14,297.84. We had a net income for the month of $4,297.84. Big expenses were the Officer Quarterly, Salary Comp and Legal Fees.

Correspondence: WOIO/WUAB- Bill Kohagen received a note of appreciation from Bill Loomer and his wife Caroline for the gift card the Union sent on the birth of their new baby.
WOIO/WUAB: Chief Steward at Large, Bill Kohagen reports that the Nominating Petitions have been completed and collected and the following Members will be the Stewards at WOIO/WUAB as of November 2011: Marty DeChant, Jim Jackson, John Kaminsky, Ken Koscick and John Potter.
Rob Hillyer will assume the position of Chief Steward at Large.
Bill said that the garage situation is being studied by an Industrial Hygienist who is currently at the site.
WJW-Engineering- Tim Roskey reports that the Engineering Unit has seven outstanding grievances. Tim feels the company has stepped up their violations of the CBA and has been retaliatory to him in his efforts to enforce the contract. The CBA concludes in May. Tim said that two jobs are currently available; one Maintenance position and one General Technician.
WJW-NEWS- Brian Geiger said the Directors grievance is in Arbitration and awaiting a decision.
WKYC- Cathy Watkins said there was a Mobilization meeting in preparation for an initiative in the near future.
AFL/CIO Report is given by NABET Local 42 Delegate Rick Nagin. Rick said that the major concern for the North Shore AFL-CIO is Issue 2. Vote NO on Issue 2 yard signs were distributed and 4 thousand of the signs are now out in the community. Help is still needed to get the word out and financial assistance is always welcome. The Occupy Wall Street Local group has been helping to embrace the cause at stop Issue 2 from passing.
OLD BUSINESS: President Wachenschwanz attended the CWA District 4 Meeting. Many Labor Leaders were at the meeting including Nina Turner, AFL-CIO’s Harriet Applegate, CWA’s
Larry Cohen and Seth Rosen. Part of Seth’s speech included comments on our struggle at WKYC. Bill said there was also a speaker from the Occupy Wall Street group.
NEW BUSINESS: Bill asks Secretary Tatulinski to check on the Steward Elections at each of the Units. Bill said that there will be an SEC Meeting in Detroit and he will bring up WKYC Issues and the upcoming Negotiations at WOIO/WUAB and WJW Engineering. Bill introduces Sector President Jim Joyce and Sector Vice President Charlie Braico who are here to speak at the general Membership Meeting.
Vice President Jim Kolendo mentions that the Final Cut Pro Lab will be back in town March 11-31, 2012. He will talk about this in detail at the General Membership Meeting.
